Students at Champaign Central High School can participate in TWO statewide reading programs. Student who participate in either or both programs will receive certificates of achievement and can participate in a lunch event in April.
Lincoln Award – Illinois Teen Reader’s Choice award
Each year, twenty books are selected by a committee of teens, librarians and educators. Students who read at least four of the nominated titles can vote for their favorite book in March. Here is the 2020 list. Sign up in the library to participate.
Read for a Lifetime
From a list of 25 titles, students who read at least four titles will receive a certificate signed by Jesse White, the Illinois Secretary of State. Students also have the option of reading all 25 books. If you are able to read all 25 books for all four years, you will receive special recognition from the Illinois Secretary of State. It will look great on college applications! Sign up in the library by November 2019. Here is the 2019-2020 list.
